Jo Anne is a principal of Hyatt & Stubblefield, P.C. She received her B.A. degree from Georgia State University in 1981 and her law degree from Emory University in 1984. Since that time, she has devoted her practice to working with developers of condominiums, master planned communities, resorts and clubs throughout the United States and the Caribbean, providing advice and assistance in creating the community governance structure, creating club membership programs for golf and other recreational amenities, establishing builder programs and documentation for the sale of property to builders and the public, and complying with state and federal land sales regulations.
She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), and a Full Member of ULI - the Urban Land Institute. She is a past chair of ACREL's Common Interest Ownership Committee and served as the ACREL representative to the Uniform State Laws Commission's Drafting Committee on the Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act from 2004 to 2008. She currently chairs ULI's Community Development Council - Silver Flight. She served on the editorial board of The Practical Real Estate Lawyer from 1996-2005 and on the ALI-ABA Real Estate Advisory Panel from 2006 to 2008.
Jo Anne is a faculty member for the American Law Institute-American Bar Association (ALI-ABA) annual courses of study on Condominiums, Planned Communities and Mixed Used Developments and Resort Real Estate and Clubs, serving as faculty chair of the latter since 2005. She is a frequent speaker at programs sponsored by such groups as the State Bar of Georgia, ICLE in Georgia, American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Home Builders, and other industry organizations. She has authored numerous articles for various industry and professional publications.
Jo Anne has been selected by her peers as a Georgia Super Lawyer every year since 2005 and was named one of the Top 50 Female Georgia Super Lawyers in 2006. She was one of 8 Georgia lawyers named in The International Who's Who of Real Estate Lawyers 2008.
Jo Anne and her husband, Neal, have two children and reside in Tucker, Georgia. She serves on the board of directors of Decatur Church of Christ Senior Housing, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing for the elderly.
